About the community
Allegro at Winter Park provides resort-style living with excellent care inspired by its surroundings. Founded as a resort town in the 19th century, Winter Park, Florida, has a long history of offering respite to the weary traveler or busy worker, and it lives up to its heritage today. Everything is designed with comfort in mind; the roads are wide, easy to navigate, and lined with a lush canopy of trees, gardens and parks abound, and all public areas are kept clean and safe. The town is culturally centered on the arts. Some standout options include the Albin Polasek Museum and Sculpture Garden, the Bach Festival Society of Winter Park, and the Mead Botanic Garden. Natural beauty is incorporated into the town, but Lake Osceola is close by and offers kayaking and hiking trails. The facilities at Allegro at Winter Park combine modern amenities with a classic design. Seniors and families can choose from a variety of floor plans, from studio to two-bedroom suites. Many of the rooms have a view of the lake. The common areas, theater, pool, hot tub, grill, patios, and dining room create ample opportunities to encounter new friendships and stay active. Allegro’s Live in Harmony program is responsible for educational opportunities, themed parties, art and fitness classes, and trips to the many local cultural landmarks. As a larger group home, Allegro offers three types of care: independent living, assisted living, and memory care. This gives seniors and families the benefit of staying in the same place as needs change and loved ones require more care. PositiveMy Brother in law has been at Allegro in Winter Park facility for 3 years. He moved to memory care about a year ago and I have been very pleased withe care he gets from the very kind staff. I am very happy with the attention paid to activities to keep the residents happy.

CriticalAllegro Winter Park was not a good fit for our family member. We had several areas of concern. First, the facility has no limited nursing license so they default to sending residents to the hospital. Staff did not consistently check on residents every two hours, per regulation. Staff did not respond consistently to the emergency pull located in the bathroom. Several times when we asked a staff member for help they said they would return to help and then never did. It is near impossible to get administrators on the …

CriticalWe left Allegro only after a few short months. The Executive Director SHOULD NOT be in senior living care. The facility is beyond POORLY run. And managers were leaving right and left. Our father sat in dirty diapers for HOURS, food was INEDIBLE, housekeeping was almost non-existent, and we had to call 911 to get our Dad off a commode after attempts to have Allegro staff help, NEVER arrived. And that is just the highlights of our experience. We know of at least 5 other families that also left Allegro for the way it …

CriticalWe thought Allegro was beautiful. It was a really nice place. But they didn't have the layout we wanted, and it was more expensive.
