Avista Yakima is located on the south side of Yakima Washington, just one half mile north of Randall Park. Yakima is known for its apple orchards and natural beauty and we provide transportation to town for dining, enjoying community events and scenic drives. Our community offers activities to promote physical health such as a fitness room and a whirlpool as well as an on-site beautician. We believe that emotional health and fun is critical; residents can enjoy a variety of engaging activities including Tai Chi, games, tea parties and crafts. We enjoy frequent outings to local restaurants, shopping and sightseeing. Our outdoor courtyards are enclosed for security and provide space for relaxing with friends or puttering among the flowers. We understand how special the bond is between residents and animals so we are a pet friendly community. Your health and safety is a top priority at Avista Yakima, we provide: Assistance with daily activities such as grooming and housekeeping Registered Nurse is available at all times Emergency response system Rehabilitation services Home visit program Individualized meal plans designed by a registered dietician Transportation to medical appointments Assistance with medications Private and public areas are designed to accommodate mobility devices Our spacious studio and one bedroom apartments provide all of the comforts of your previous home, including kitchenettes complete with refrigerator and microwave. There is ample storage space throughout the apartment and we encourage you to decorate and truly make it your own.

CriticalYou get what you pay for
Very disorganized. Can't seem to find time to help with showers or other needs. Food and food service very lacking. Took them a few weeks to get him on a laundry schedule and several weeks for showers. He's had to ask many times for things.

PositiveOverall would recommend
I wish there had been more staff to care for the residents, they said it was memory care, but my paperwork said assisted living. My mom got out of the facility 4 times. Overall the staff that were there were wonderful. Overall the assisted living is wonderful for place, just not for someone with dementia.

If I were you I would not put my loved one in Avista Yakima the Ed only sees dollar signs when someone Moves In my mom used to live here and the employees did not check on her like I was paying for them to do or get her showers like I was paying for them to do if you care about your parent or grandparent this is not the place for them

PositiveHighly recommend
There is a very family like feel to the facility. All of the attendants and directors were very welcoming, and made us feel that they really cared about our father. We were soon recognized as his family and treated as their family as well. They took good care of him And he felt at home. I would highly recommend.
