Review for Barclay House of Augusta

The resident has complained about the food not fitting her diet and not getting help with showering, etc. She says twice they ran out of food and she got a cheese sandwich. She likes her apartment but there isn't much privacy. They seem to be short staffed almost always. In my opinion, they need more staff and more qualified medical staff with a deeper understanding of pharmacology. Also, they pretty much require the use of Guardian Pharmacy whose prices are way above local pharmacies.

Has room for Improvements

Excellent outings and indoor activities. Dining area very nice. Improvements ~ Management needs lots of improvement. Extremely disorganized. When items were sent by family to residents, certain ones were not deliverable and were not returned to family. Staff kept them. Added up to quite a bit of money. Would not recommend to others.

Grateful for a short term placement for my sister

Late this summer, an urgent need for an assisted living place arose for my sister. Barclay was an answer to our prayer and provided some respite for my sister as she navigated some challenges that prevented her from living independently. When her next step became clear, she had a hard time saying goodbye to the staff who she had gotten to know and trust. We are forever grateful for Director [name removed] work to help us navigate admission. Barclay was such a warm and wonderful home, even for a short time.

I would say stay away, unprofessional, management lacking. I would not recommend, the Memory Care unit

Very happy with the staff

The thing that sticks out the most about Benton House of Augusta is the staff. They really listen to the concerns of the family. We have been very happy with the staff that take care of her, they even take the time to send me pictures of [name removed] doing the activities they do. I do think that they should have more movement for the residents during the day program. Overall I would recommend Benton House to others looking.

A great place for your family member with wonderful activities, friendly staff, and a beautiful space.

The staff at Benton House are short staffed especially on the weekends. Our loved one doesn't always get her meds in a timely manner. When it comes to the activities they take trips to Eudora Farms (wildlife preserve), Atlanta aquarium, cookies to firefighters, bingo, hangman, happy hour, guest musicians, ice cream socials, At least two celebrations of some kind every month. We would highly recommend this community to other families looking for a place for their loved ones.
