PositiveFriendly staff, nice rooms
Staff is pleasant, with some standout individuals. They haven't always made good choices with my mom, but overall good. Seems like staff is limited (not enough people). Activities look good, although my mother usually chooses not to participate. Room size and privacy for a shared room is good. Food is reasonably good.

My apartment is spacious and complete. I use the term spacious to mean not only what have seen in other senior facilities but also in many urban area apartments about 700 square feet. I have a washer and dryer in the apartment proper as well as a complete kitchen, including a dishwasher. Although I am not participating, lunch and dinner means are priced monthly and I believe reasonable. Breakfast is free and is in the 'independent living' area. It's much better than where she was - but still some frustration with the system. We chose this facility because of the spacious rooms, design of the units, and their ability to provide assistance with a Hoyer lift. Staff are friendly, kind, and patient. Even semi-private rooms are spacious, homey, and designed to maximize privacy. And price: "enhanced care" compared with a skilled nursing facility. CriticalWe took a tour of Bishop Place during our search for an Assisted Living facility for our loved one. This facility was okay and our tour was pretty good. However, I was not impressed with the staff interaction with the residents and didn't see staff or residents smile or acknowledge each other.
