Brookdale Derby

Brookdale Derby was a perfect environment for my dad.

My dad resided there for over four years until he passed . It was always a positive experience. The facility is well cared for and I loved the homey atmosphere. I can’t say enough good things about the staff, ALL of them. Everyone was so kind, patient and compassionate. They were also very accommodating, I loved that about the kitchen staff because dad could be a little fussy. They became family.

It is clean, with no smells of urine. Staff is friendly. My only "complaint" is that it a little more expensive than other places. With that being said you do tend to get what you pay for. They have water, and lemonade, or something similar available by the nurses station every day and they are offered a morning and afternoon snack.

The Staff is excellent. They are caring and friendly. I feel like my mother is well taken care of. The activities are okay but I think more thought could be put into them. My mom doesn't like participating in many of them. I would and have recommended Brookdale to others.

They struggle to keep good employees. The facility is pretty clean. There are a few times I could smell a strong urine smell when walking by the laundry room. I wished we had placed my parents there earlier when they were more independent.

I would recommend touring because the staff is really great and it a good atmosphere. I have already recommended it to friends! The staff was welcoming when my brother and I visited. The director took her time with us and answered all of our questions. The place was clean and cheery. It was in Derby.

This was a really nice community with good staff follow up. Also it was further from family than we wanted.
