Care Types Offered Brookdale Pearland provides both Type A and Type B assisted living . In the state of Texas, these terms are defined as follows: Assisted Living Facility A facility that provides personal care services and administration of medication to 4 or more residents. Assisted living facilities can accept residents with dementia and/or Alzheimer’s. There are 3 types of assisted living facilities: Type A: A facility that may provide room and board to residents who are physically and mentally capable of evacuating the facility unassisted. Type B: A facility that may provide room and board to residents who need assistance evacuating, are incapable of following directions under emergency conditions, require staff attendance during nighttime sleeping hours, and require assistance transferring to and from a wheelchair. Type C (Adult Foster Care): Four-bed facilities that meet the minimum standards and rules for enrollment in the Department of Aging and Disability Services’ Adult Foster Care home program. The facility provides supervision and personal care services to residents. CriticalWe had good communication at first but it waned as time went on. I live 4 hours away, but my niece lived fairly close in Pearland. I feel once my sister couldn't do for herself everything went into the ditch. She didn't care for showers and it was difficult for her to let strangers bathe her....but ..for the outrageous monthly charge I would think their memory care staff would know how to handle a dementia patient to make it more agreeable. PositiveOur counselor [name removed] found it as an alternative for us. it has Brookdale's reputation but Healthcare Plus that gives it the care we needed. We would recommend it to others.
