Located in southwest Florida, you can find our family-oriented memory care community tucked away in the city of Cape Coral, which is known for its abundance of canals and is home to Sirenia Vista Park, the Cape Coral Historical Society and Museum, and many other attractions. Plenty of manatees call Cape Coral home, as well! Brookdale Santa Barbara is committed to establishing person-centered relationships, utilizing two memory care programs for residents based on their cognitive abilities. The Clare Bridge program was created over 30 years ago and is intended to help residents in the mid to late stages of dementia, while the Solace program is designed to accommodate residents in more advanced stages of the disease. Solace provides an additional layer of care, which includes ample time for grooming assistance and activities with the senses, including music and aromatherapy. Regardless of residents’ care needs, all can embrace a sense of security here. Staff is available 24-hours a day, seven days a week to be alerted to an emergency, and a 24-hour security system and keypad entries have been installed as added safety measures. In addition to providing care and promoting safety, residents receive assistance with daily chores like laundry, housekeeping, home maintenance, and meal preparation. Assistance with eating during meals, managing medication, mobility, and other activities of daily living are provided, if needed. Compassionate staff members use a variety of communication techniques with residents, such as physical prompting, cueing, validation, and more, to build trust and facilitate understanding. Throughout the community you’ll notice different areas of engagement are offered to residents. From gardening, to kitchen work, handyman help, and more, Brookdale Santa Barbara’s dementia-trained team works with residents to preserve their skills and routines. Community Services and Amenities Here, residents can look forward to six structured programs each day, which promote their skills through safe engagement opportunities. From cognitive workouts, to brain stimulation games, or physical activities like dancing or walking, you will find a variety of structured activities that provide socialization and smiles. Additional amenities on-site include a well-stocked library, a beauty and barber shop, an exciting game room, and a beautiful courtyard and garden. Another plus is the Personal Solutions program — if residents need soap, hearing aid batteries, or other specific items, they can simply send the team a list of what they need and the items will be delivered at no extra cost. In the state of Florida, these terms are defined as follows: Assisted Living Facility A facility that provides supervision of the activities of daily living, medications, and other similar services to residents in a homelike environment. These facilities can house one resident to hundreds of residents. Limited Nursing Services The assisted living facility can provide nursing services to residents.
