The building is also strategically designed with safety in mind, and includes monitored entrances and exits as well as an enclosed walking area, which allows safe exploration of the colorful garden and courtyard. Rest assured, staff is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to be alerted to an emergency, and a 24-hour security system promotes additional on-site safety. In addition to peace of mind, residents can look forward to three home-style meals, plus snacks, served daily. To reduce stress and confusion, staff members provide customized place settings for each resident and offer help to those who require assistance with mobility during mealtime. Some additional community perks to look forward to include the game room, the cozy fireside living room, an on-site beauty and barber shop, and an arts and crafts studio. Brookdale Tyler South also provides a convenient guest suite for visiting family and friends. Two types of memory care programming are available here: the Clare Bridge program and the Solace program. Clare Bridge — an exclusive brand of dementia care — provides residents with six structured activities per day. The Solace program assists those in the later stages of dementia and provides extra time for grooming, as well as activities involving music and aromatherapy. Participate in daily cognitive workouts, or stay physically fit with activities like fitness classes, walking, dancing, and more. The community offers walking paths to enjoy at your leisure, and a well-stocked library if you’d like to relax with a good book. Plus, if you find yourself needing assistance with errands, Brookdale’s team is happy to help out. The community’s Personal Solutions program allows you to submit requests for necessities, and the staff will handle all the rest. Items will be delivered directly to you, and at no additional cost! Living Arrangements With easy-to-navigate floor plans, soothing wall colors, and large circular paths, the community is designed to feel comfortable like home, and not overwhelming. Some apartments feature stunning views of the garden and plenty of natural light. Before you move in, staff members can provide a list of suggested items to make the transition easier. Care Types Offered Brookdale Tyler South is a Type B assisted living facility . In the state of Texas, these terms are defined as follows: Assisted Living Facility A facility that provides personal care services and administration of medication to 4 or more residents. Assisted living facilities can accept residents with dementia and/or Alzheimer’s. There are 3 types of assisted living facilities: Type A: A facility that may provide room and board to residents who are physically and mentally capable of evacuating the facility unassisted. Type B: A facility that may provide room and board to residents who need assistance evacuating, are incapable of following directions under emergency conditions, require staff attendance during nighttime sleeping hours, and require assistance transferring to and from a wheelchair. Type C (Adult Foster Care): Four-bed facilities that meet the minimum standards and rules for enrollment in the Department of Aging and Disability Services’ Adult Foster Care home program.
