Review for Brookdale Walla Walla

The Brookdale has been a great improvement in my father's quality of life. He walks to the dining room 3 times a day and then there are snacks. He often sits in the common area and is frequently greeted. My brother [name removed] is the one living there and sees him 2-3 x per week. So far, he thinks things are going well. . I would recommend it, but, he isn't a very particular person when it comes to environment. He's far more interested in daily ice cream.

Our Experience

Staff is very caring and kind for the majority, but now appears the facility is short staffed. Activities are not very exciting and often are canceled or just not happening -with out notice. Housekeeping is done minimally once a week and unless Brookdale has your resident on their shower assist then laundry often is overlooked. The food is not very exciting most often and seems to be the cheapest choices. Scheduling Transportation is not the most reliable and one can not go with or send a caregiver with the residen…

Overall the staff are very caring. Improvements are consistently being made. New painting was completed throughout and it feels fresh and new. I would recommend this to all looking in the Walla Walla area as a good option for care.

Nice,Easy Goin staff. But for Profit Business. There might be somewhere better, but I could live there.

My Mother's room has a nice view. But the adjoining room has a tv that frequently [name removed] from 5am , all day. My mom doesn't like to complain and has so only twice and the sound lessened. The staff is great. Maybe understaffed. My Mom is Gluten intolerant. When they have food with gluten, they will not provide a gluten free substitute. That is her big complaint. And 8 o'clock breakfast ,not flexible, too early for Mom.

Caring staff with a work in progress

My loved one is currently a resident at Brookdale Walla Walla. Overall, our experience at this facility has been okay. The facility is located in a woodsy setting that is quiet and pleasant. However, I feel like so much more could be done to improve the experience for the residents and their families. Sometimes housekeeping of the rooms is forgotten or overlooked, but it seems to be improving a bit with reminders. First Choice To Place Your Loved One

It is a beautiful spot and worth looking into. The community is finding it hard to find staff, and some of the newer staff isn't as trained as they could be. There were choices for meals for the residents to choose from.
