Great place overall

The staff and administrators are really nice and Dad perks up when the Director, [name removed] chats with him. She is truly exceptional with the residents. There is a young woman who has taken over the activities and she is cute and funny and attentive. She likes to cut up with them (I have been in several activities with Dad) and the residents seem to like her. The head nurse is an LPN and doesn't seem to know anything about diabetes. My sister and I were just talking about we have not seen her for awhile. Dad

Temporary residence

The administer is a good compassionate leader. My wife is in memory care and hospice is now assisting. My wife was a very good cook and I'm okay so the food is just okay to our standards. It seems the evening crew is less dependable and apparently all facilities face a pretty high turnover. I drive 32 miles 4 or 5 times a week to help [Name Removed] offering some t l c and I often take some home made meals.

Response from the community

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’re glad to hear you’ve felt the compassion and leadership within the community and that your wife is receiving support during this time. We also appreciate your honest feedback regarding dining and evening staffing, as this kind of input is important to us as we continue to improve. Your dedication to visiting and supporting your wife speaks volumes, and we’re honored to be part of her care.

Things to know

Often have to wait for an extended period of time to be let in to the memory care area. Have seen residents at meal time unsupervised I would not fully recommend them. I think in our case it would be more disruptive to our family member to move her, than to deal with the issues that we have with Cedarhurst

Response from the community

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re truly sorry to hear about your concerns regarding wait times and supervision during meals. The safety and well-being of our residents is our top priority, and we take these matters very seriously. We would appreciate the opportunity to speak with you directly to better understand your experience and address your concerns. Please reach out to our Executive Director at your earliest convenience — we want to ensure your family member continues to receive the best possible care and support.

Friendly Staff

My dad is complaining about food. He and the guys at his table think they lost their main cook. Dad has joined some of the social activities and he likes the live music and singing. We are happy that he goes to exercise class most days. The staff has been super nice and attentive.

Response from the community

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re glad to hear your dad is enjoying the social activities, live music, and exercise classes, and that our staff has been attentive and caring. We also appreciate your comments about dining, as it helps us continue to improve and provide a variety of meal options for all residents.

WE ENDED UP 2 AND A HALF HOURS LATER WITH WHAT WOULD WORK FOR EVERYONE.I KNEW I COULD NOT TAKE MOM OUT OF FACILITY CAUSE SHE WAS SO MUCH AT HOME AND ENJOYED BEING WITH PEOPLE THAT WAS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS IN LIFE. SHE HAS TOLD ME AND MY FAMILY
