I would recommend Cedarhurst of Topeka. My husband was in the memory care unit and I felt the quality of care suffered a little because of staff turnover. The staff was very nice while they were there but there seemed to be new faces every few weeks. That did begin to change before my husband was no longer there. My husband also had Hospice and they did part of his care. The memory care unit was very nice. When you walked in it was very light, lots of windows and the sun was shining in. Wonderful rooms, great food, caring staff

Very helpful and knowledgeable nursing staff. The food is excellent and served by caring staff, who adjusts to the needs of client. Programs are fun and engaging. It's such a friendly environment and my Mom loved it there.

They have really been a positive experience. Cedarhurst seems to be top notch. The facility is immaculate. The staff is patient and invested in the people. They have lots of activities and always remember to be inclusive with them. They give regular updates on activities through their app. We have met to have updates on what they are seeing with my mom.

My only comment is that they provided a great environment and quality care for my 107 year old father until he passed in April. Additionally their cost of care was very reasonable!

Positive

The facility is only a year old and very nice. The staff is very friendly and easy to talk to and helpful. They call me if they need anything or to give me an update. The actual move in of furniture is a bit harder. Parking isn't close to a door to unload. I would recommend the facility to others. It is very nice, light and airy with access to an outside area where the residents can go sit outside when it is warm enough. If you have to be in a "home," this is a nice place to be.
