Our experience

Happy residents - happy staff. When I 1st called A Home for Mom, our plan waa to explore options for the future. With a few key filters applied The Cottages at Palm Springs seemed to answer all of our needs (location, pet friendly & budget). We managed to get an appointment the same day. My husband felt at home right away and knowing that we weren't committed long term, we were signing papers and started moving in the next day!

Well recommended

The staff was wonderful. Very friendly and caring with the residents. The facility was very well maintained both inside and outside. Food, for the most part, was pretty good. Activities were fun. The room was a good size for mom. Overall it was a good experience. Mom just really wanted to be back in her own home now that my brother was retired and would be home more often to help her manage daily tasks.

Review for Cottages at Palm Springs

I was very disappointed with the level of care and staffing. There often did not seem to be enough staff available, and residents could wait a long time after pressing for assistance. At times, there was no staff visible in the building for extended periods. Communication and consistency in care were also concerning. Important information about my father's condition and fall risk did not always seem to be known by staff members. We are disappointed that this has been your experience with us. Thank you for taking the time to leave such detailed feedback as we always appreciate hearing where we can improve. We have one caregiver per Assisted Living cottage at all times, and should they have to step out, we have medical technicians available to assist. We have a comprehensive care plan available in each cottage for every resident accessible to all staff that includes detailed instructions for medication management. We have escalated your comments directly to upper management for further review.

Great place for the price

This is very well kept community in the heart of Palm Springs. The staff is always very friendly and whoever runs the activities, deserves an A+! She always has tons on the calendar and seems to personalize each activity or event as much as possible. My Mom really was hesitant about moving in, but now she gets excited about hanging out with the other residents, especially during the Happy Hour's and it's very comforting to know that she's happy and enjoying herself!

A Low 2

No reports will be forthcoming. If you visit, you may not be able to get into cottage for 10 or 20 minutes and you may have to search other cottages for an official who can admit you. Front desk is not manned 24 hours and night people don't always pick up phone. There is odor and theft. The schedule of activities on wall is mostly for show. All of this will be less relevant outside of memory care, of course, and with patients who can respond to their own problems.

We apologize that this has been your experience with us. We understand your frustration with delays in communication, but after 5 p.m. one of our Med Techs is responsible for our after hours phone, and will not answer right away when providing care. We take pride in the the care we have for our community and our residents, and we can confirm that there have been no reported thefts. As our Cottages are specific to Memory Care, we keep them locked for everyone's safety, which can lead to a delay if care staff is with another resident. The care and happiness of our residents and loved ones is our top priority, and we hope we can improve on your initial impression of us.
