PositiveMy Dad is really enjoying living at Discovery Village @ The Forum. Even though he was initially resistant to leaving his home he likes his apartment and he is enjoying having friends and activities. The staff is very friendly and attentive.

CriticalI loved the apartment, the meals - although the first 24 hrs the meal delivery was problematic. My experience with my sister was precarious because she wasn't 100% committed & the staff checking to see if she was wet (pee) in the middle of the night & overwhelming attention in the first 24 hrs was nerve-wracking fir her; although everyone meant well.

PositiveAll areas seem to perform their duties as expected. As far as cost, no I would not recommend this facility. But most of them were there for the patients.

PositiveThe people that help my mother seem great. Very personable. I've gotten to know several people and they are very attentive and handle mom with care. She is looking forward to the outings. Her room is very large and allows lots of her personal furniture and items with more than enough room to move around.

PositiveFind out if you have one person as a contact person for your loved one. In the case of discovery, there are medical staff, physical therapy and occupational therapy vendors, the aids that are direct caregivers for your loved one, and the administration. There were more layers Through which to communicate then I had expected. It's not a bad thing, but it would've been helpful to have known this information ahead of time.
