Great Grandma's new digs

Having previously inspected several alternatives, we soon decided we wanted our loved one to take up memory care residency in Edgewood. The transition of being moved from her home where she had resided, with her husband the past thirteen years was not without sadness. The attendants seem in tune with my wife's needs are very kind to her. She does require assistance with dressing and undressing, toileting, showering and personal hygiene. We would NEVER recommend this facility to anyone that cares about their loved one. Edgewood made a very devastating, life-changing transition much, much more difficult for our family. If there was a 0 choice, that would fit

Full of life and beauty for folks in need of memory care and assisted living.

Placing a loved one in memory care is very difficult for the caregiver. But placement in Edgewood, close to town but with beautiful mountain views took some of this pain away. The facility itself is well designed, new and brightly welcoming. The staff are fabulous. The life-enrichment staff are joyful and honoring of the memory care residents , and all of the staff including the housekeeping staff are trained in how to work effectively with patients with memory and dementia issues. When my Mother-in-law came to be with us in December we found that she was happiest when interacting with other people, and became anxious and agitated when she was not kept busy. In researching day activities for seniors with dementia, we came across Edgewood and found the staff warm and welcoming.
