About Fairbanks Court Assisted Living

Where Your Family Becomes Ours Fairbanks Court is a unique residence option for seniors who require assistance ranging from basic mobility and supervision to full Memory Care. Located just North of Spring Branch and just West of Oak Forest, we're conveniently accessible from highway 290 or from I-10 and particularly convenient for commuters coming into Houston from Cypress or Jersey Village. Fairbanks Court can be described as 'residence style' assisted living, meaning that it feels like a large single-family home. With a small number of residents, we're able to know each family by name. There's no bureaucracy, confusing hierarchies, or ambiguous responsibilities. The owners are personally involved in day-to-day operations. The building is large enough to provide space for each resident to pursue their interests but small enough to feel like home. We eat each meal together at a large dining table and gather on the patio to watch the sunset. The most interesting facet of our culture is the presence of children in the lives of our residents. The owners David and Kate have three young boys who are frequent participants and even leaders of group activities. Fairbanks Court also has a large playset in the back yard which provides fun for the kids and entertainment for the residents. Children are always welcome at Fairbanks Court, and we are always well stocked with puzzles, games, and toys for all generations to enjoy. The Christian faith of David and Kate Gober is an important aspect of their business practices and their decision to pursue elder care. David is a deacon at Houston's First Baptist Church where he has taught Bible study classes for over 12 years. He has a long history of volunteerism and is transitioning out of the oil and gas industry to lead Fairbanks Court. Kate is a Registered Nurse, mother of three, and a constant source of encouragement to both moms of children and 'moms again' who find themselves caring for their parents. David and Kate believe that God has led them to this career and that providing purpose, safety, and affection for older adults is incredibly fulfilling and rewarding. We hope that you will consider Fairbanks Court and choose to be a part of our family.

Fairbanks Court Assisted Living

My mother and father shared a room there, however my mother has just recently passed. From the initial day of residency the facility has exhibited nothing short of class, dignity and exceptional care for both of my parents. It's the kind of place I have told my own son I want to be in should I succumb to dementia or Alzheimer's. It begins with proprietor/owner[Name Removed]and his wife,[name removed]. The hospice Capstone affiliation to the facility is just as strong. This is my experience which I am still living a

Truly felt like family

I can easily give it a 5 in all categories. My husband wasn't there but 3.5 months and towards the end not eating, but the staff would fix me a plate when I was there in the evenings for dinner so I can attest to the quality of food. They were genuinely upset when my husband passed; everyone from his nurse, the aides, cook and even the lady who did his bath. They all came in and paid their respects when he passed. I ran into one of the aides a couple of months ago and she told me how much they still missed him. W

Exceptional Care

It's hard for me to write comments as my husband is a very hard to care for patient. I do see the other patients getting exceptional care. There is one aide there who has gone above and beyond in her care for my husband and I'm more at ease in the days she's there.

Critical

staff were excellent, but overall atmosphere lacked stimulation.

Mom left there end of [date removed]. It was too expensive. Mainly she found it depressing because she felt most of the other residents were just waiting to die and were losing their minds, she is now in assisted living in Terrell, Tx.

Small personable facility

My husband lived here for 2 years. It is a small, family-run facility with 12-15 residents. There is good support for the extended family as well. They could improve on the food by making it more appropriate to the functional level of the resident, more veggies, fewer hotdogs.
