PositiveThe janitorial service definitely needs improvement. Staff is competent, truly seems to care and most have been there for several years. Med techs are good. Room is adequate. Dining seems rather blah.... too many casserole dishes. Not much imagination. But dementia patients probably don't realize that . Activities are proportionate to the space, time and population. But probably could have some more imagination too. Their building is ready for some updates but they know that. They finally got an executive director …

PositiveWe chose Grand Brook Memory Care of Carrollton because it did not smell bad and was homey. There were also areas where my MIL could be alone since too much activity made her nervous at times. The staff treats every resident there with care and patience.

PositiveI'm going to give a 5 in all categories, the most important being the staff. We thought my mom would stay in memory care permanently, but she didn't! I believe this was in part due to the excellent care at Autumn Leaves. [name removed] recognized her condition and had her work with him as his "assistant," making decorations and reading articles to other residents. These articles were tailored to spark memories in her past. Her memory actually came back and she's back in independent living! She's also a very picky, …

PositiveWe picked this community for a couple of reasons. The main reason is that they offered more services like being willing to feed our family member if they could not feed themselves, or being willing to deal with incontinence and adult underwear. Many of the other facilities told us we would have to move our family member if those situations happened. We also like the fact that this was a memory care center and not a combo facility with assisted-living and memory care.
Response from the communityThank you for your thoughtful review! We're glad to hear our care and services made a difference for your family. We appreciate your trust in our community. Warmly, The Grand Brook Carrollton team

PositiveI have found the Grand Brook staff to be quick to communicate and very helpful. The activities director, [name removed], is the best AD I've encountered at any memory care community. My mom has fallen less since moving to this community, and seems overall happier.
