Newcomer to memory care

So far in the past 3 weeks that my husband has been there, the personnel has been very helpful and friendly, room linens cleaned, with a variety of activities and also quiet time for everyone. I go there at different times/ different days, to have a general overview of the place.

Avoid this place like the plague

There is no consistency in care at Grossmont Gardens. My mom was not changed regularly, whenever I picked her up for a doctor's appointment I would have to leave very early knowing that she would be in no condition to go out. 1) She developed an awful rash, but no one bathing her thought to send her to the nurse. 2) There was an outbreak of scabies at the facility, no one notified me even as my mom had a rash on her wrist 3) I picked her up at 1am to take her to the Emergency Room, there was no one on the floor

a bit of sanity in our insane world

Give them all 5's. I doubt my FIL participated in any activities. I was able to observe a lot of things going on when walking through. Staff was always helpful and friendly. It takes special people to work in a unit like that. It is very confusing putting a loved one in a facility. I could ask anyone I saw a question and they either had the answer or directed (or took me to) the person who would have the answer. [name removed] was in a double that shared a bathroom with another double. I never say anyone use the

Pretty good fit for my dad

My dad has pretty severe dementia. He seems to be fitting in at Grossmont Gardens memory care pretty well. The staff there seemed kind and genuine. The facilities and food are good. My dad seems to be doing better there than he was at my house. He didn’t really have anybody to connect with while we were gone at work. I feel comfortable knowing that he has other people to hang out with during the day.
