There is such real kindness here. After spending several years as an invalid at home with some help, a fall incapacitated me even further with a bad ankle break. My parents were hesitant to move into an assisted living facility. They knew they needed help but it was also important for them to have independence. They had outdated ideas of what assisted living was. The Island House has changed all of that and has far exceeded all expectations. My parents couldn’t be happier! Criticalpros and cons
The staff are pleasant but they seem spread too thin. The facility has nice parts (the living room) and parts that seem old and tired (lobby, elevator, halls). The food seems ok, not great. I think they have had alot of turn over in the kitchen.

I would recommend to them to others. They are very accommodating but it is not cheap. I looked at another community, but decided that island house was a better fit. We did just lose our activities director so we will see.
