Ivy Park at La Jolla

Ivy Park at La Jolla is a beautiful small assisted living facility. The setting feels like a converted mansion that caters to individual resident needs. All of the boxes are checked such as meals, on-site nurse, activities etc. The price described is reasonable for the setting. I am at the beginning of my search for mom’s next home and Ivy Park set the bar very high. It is what am comparing every other assisted living facility to.

A friendly caring place

There is always room for improvement. Keep in mind, this is our first experience with assisted living. Overall the staff is very friendly, caring, and supportive. Naturally, some staff members really stand out. Activities are held every day and all day for anyone wanting to participate. They also have tours and excursions weekly in their own transport vehicle. All the staff I encountered were very friendly. The food looked delicious and there were options available. Excellent location, close to the beach, ocean views. If/when the time comes I would love to live there.

Small home style community with personalized accommodation

Small personalized, customized food as necessary, caring staff. Memory care is segregated good communication with nurse manager and director. Very Important, they have good interface with hospice and allow for 24hr visiting at the end.

Ivy Park at La Jolla

I was excited about ivy park when I placed my wife there last March, but they didn't seem to be able to handle the aggression portion of alzheimer's. They let her lay in bed soaked with urine rather than deal with her not wanting to get up. I would never recommend ivy park for any alzheimer's patient. Overall my rating is 0. Exceeds expectation

Beautiful small clean facility. Ample care. Opportunity for a wide choice of activities every day. Accommodating food service. Most important this is a loving family environment where everyone knows your name and accommodates your preferences.
