CriticalOur experience with Juniper was poor. Head of nursing accepted our mom with a vague home assessment. When she arrived, they did a second assessment, making determinations on what her ADL’s were, and then stumbled to meet her where she was at from the onset of her entry. They displayed a lack of professionalism when they were in error. They kept perfume and nail polish in her room after her doctor required all poisons to be removed, endangering her. PositiveMy parent has had a very good experience at Juniper Village at Brookline. The only recommendation would be to have a more thorough orientation upon becoming a resident. There are a lot of options and activities and these should be explained and have literature that can be referenced by the resident and the supporting family members to aid the resident in making decisions.

PositiveOverall experience. 4 for assisted living, 2 for skilled nursing. Juniper's skilled nursing facility is in need of a major cosmetic overhaul. It is very dark and dingy, compared to the assisted living side, which is very bright and cheerful. Cleanliness. 3 for assisted living, 2 for skilled nursing Friendliness of staff. 4 for assisted living, 3 for skilled nursing Quality of care. 4 for assisted living, 3 for skilled nursing Meals/Dining. 4 for assisted living, 2 for skilled nursing Activities. 4 for assisted…

PositiveThe staff has been very accommodating, especially regarding food - which is always an issue for my brother (4 in that category from him is good). I would recommend Juniper Village at Brookline to others.
★★★★★
CriticalThey aren't very forthcoming with their information. When a patient falls, or a medication is changed, family is not notified in a timely manner. I've found out information through the pharmacy that is used about a medication change, and other things through family members.

PositiveOur family had an in person tour and it was nice but the cost was just to high for us.
