Seniors with Alzheimer’s, dementia, or other forms of memory loss often benefit from living in a dedicated memory care community such as Lark Springs. This nonprofit community receives guidance from their managing partner, Greenbrier Senior Living, to provide high-quality care. Lark Springs uses a neighborhood model, making it easy for seniors to feel at home in familial settings. Four separate neighborhoods feature their own living room, kitchen, and dining areas, where residents can get to know their neighbors. Caregivers tend to the same group of residents each day, allowing relationships to form and giving residents an opportunity to bond and build trust with their caregivers. A secure courtyard allows residents to experience all the beauty of Colorado Springs, with views of the bluffs and the woods of Palmer Park. Regular games and social events, along with spiritual and religious services, are offered on-site. Nearby, the Colorado Springs Pioneer Museum offers insights to the historical significance of Pikes Peak, while the Peterson Air and Space Museum features a rich military history surrounding the Peterson Air Force Base. State Classification Lark Springs is an assisted living residence , which in the state of Colorado is a residential facility which provides personal services, protective oversight, social care due to impaired capacity to live independently, and 24 hour supervision (but not to the extent that regular 24-hour medical nursing care is required). Assisted living residences may also provide care to no more than 16 elderly persons who are mentally ill.
