A Scam

I was not refunded 27 days that I pre-paid prior to wife's death. Administrators showed zero empathy about me paying $[removed] for nothing in return. Also not refunded community fee, which was another $[removed]. I paid a little over $[removed] for my wife's three day stay. I feel like I was taking advantage of in a stressful situation and lost a lot of money without any empathy from the administrators.

First months in new setting

Madonna Heritage has been a wonderful assisted living facility that has met the needs of my parent. This was a hard decision and Madonna Heritage made the transition for my family as easy as could be. The staff are understanding and helpful. The facility is clean and warm. We are fortunate that this was a possibility for us to select. At this time, I would recommend Madonna Heritage.

Overpromise and Underdeliver

Many of the staff are kind and they were always welcoming to us. However, they seemed to want the easy way out - get a wheelchair rather than helping him walk, medicate him if he said he was uncomfortable, etc. They also said they had a lot of activities (gardening, exercise classes, etc.), but I saw little evidence of that.

At first, my interactions with this community were very positive, and it would have been my first choice. The location was closest to where I live. But after a little back and forth, something changed. I'm not sure what. There was a lack of accommodation for our schedule, with no weekend tour availability. The woman I had been corresponding with went from being very nice to being very short with me. It was a disappointing experience.
