My loved one now eats regularly

The staff at Maple Ridge has been very active/responsive with me and my loved one. The staff is very helpful and informative. My loved one is eating regularly in the gorgeous dining room, has dining companions with every meal.

Happy with our time at Maple Ridge, even though they have some areas that need some improvement.

Do not let them take over as your drug dispensary. If you need to return medication, don't depend on them getting that done. Drugs just go missing, with no accountability. I figure [name removed] lost about $[removed] in missing drugs. Who knows what happened...Then, he is suppose to get an emergency medical wristband, that was paid for and he never got one. After 8 months of nagging, I finally gave up. So the place is not perfect, but way better than most, so we are overall happy with most of our experience's.

Maple ridge should be your last option

Staff, in my opinion, wasn't very good. For the [removed] a month I was paying, I would have expected a higher level of care. The head nurse really didn't seem engaged, nor did the administrator. My mom gained 72 lbs in her stay, and ultimately died as a direct result of improper care( waiting 30 days to get her off the island for care that whidbey general couldn't provide).

When my sister and I first walked in, we were met by I very rude and abrupt elderly woman at the front desk. From there we were shown around by a heavy set women that never smiled and it seemed very rehearsed. The facility itself looks rundown on the outside. It has dead plants everywhere and boxes in the front that were maybe a good idea at one point, but someone forgot about them. You can feel the difference

After all the restrictions and isolation that plagued Senior Living, it was a hard process to bring life and joy back to communities. At Maple Ridge you can feel it. The staff really care and the activities are bringing excitement and fun, the food has gotten fabulous and you and/or your loved one will be well cared for both physically and emotionally.

Overall is a 1 - This is because of management promises that never happened and things in the unit that were never repaired- including main heater that never worked and toilet seat that was broken and dangerous to use. They were friendly but didn't do what they said they would. No orientation, no help with questions, no one-on-one time for a new 101 year old resident who needed help. The food was good but extra hassle to have in room and when mom missed serving time that ended at 5:30 she went hungry that night. No…
