About the community
For families of a loved one with dementia, specialized care in an intimate setting can be an ideal option for senior living. Morning Star Memory Care in Fredericksburg, Texas, is a premier option for memory care in Hill Country, with never more than 16 residents and caregivers specifically trained to meet the needs of people with dementia, including Alzheimer’s disease. Morning Star’s care method focuses on the idea of habilitation, rather than rehabilitation, asking caregivers to step into the world of a person with dementia — and not expect residents to conform to our world. This means simplifying their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs to support success. Located on the outskirts of Fredericksburg, Morning Star is nestled between a quiet gated community and a hometown market. Popular retailers, restaurants, and small local businesses are just to the north and the expansive, scenic Hill Country is to the south. Hill Country Memorial Hospital and other top medical providers are easily accessible within a few miles if health needs arise. Morning Star Memory Care Services and Amenities At Morning Star, the unique needs of your loved one with dementia are the top focus. Among the highly trained staff members is a full-time registered nurse who’s a certified dementia practitioner. Your loved one can expect assistance with activities of daily living, medication management, incontinence care, housekeeping, and laundry services. The community eliminates clutter and distractions in the dining room for a positive eating experience three times a day. A secure courtyard invites them outdoors for walks or an opportunity to sit under the covered patio to watch the local wildlife. With an on-site hair salon, unnecessary trips outside the home are eliminated. The community’s comprehensive activities program is designed to minimize the dependency of residents and reflect their individual interests. Activities include physical, occupational, motivational, and rehabilitative therapies, as well as art, music, dance and exercise groups. Living Arrangements Morning Star offers private and semi-private rooms that are furnished or unfurnished, depending on your preference. ★★★★★
PositiveI give them an overall of 5! In all categories. The place is a little dated but the friendliness and homey feel is the best. I love that all the clients can move about freely, have access to a big outside area and monthly cookouts with family! Our first impression was that it was small, quiet and relaxed. The staff is amazing as well!!!
★★★★★

★★★★★
PositiveThey truly care—and it shows in everything they do! With a small number of residents, the staff is able to give each person plenty of individualized attention and genuinely spoil them. The large backyard and covered sitting area provide a wonderful space for residents to relax and enjoy the outdoors. You can feel the happiness here—it’s such a warm and positive environment. PositiveAs for Morning Star Memory Care in Fredricksburg, we felt incredibly blessed to be able to work with Tasha and Michael. We felt at peace knowing that my dad was safe. It was as close to a home environment as was possible for my dad. I never felt uneasy leaving after visiting him at Morning Star.
