PositiveI stopped by unannounced once and they were willing to give me a full tour. Then 2 weeks later I went to their Valentine luncheon. Both were very successful and good experiences. The Commuinity is gorgeous and their layout, garden setting, food, and activities were terrific. I would highly recommend this place.

PositiveI toured Oakmont of Escondido as part of an effort to scope out senior living facilities for my mom, before taking her to the top two. Oakmont is a very nice facility, with nice units, common areas, and a good outdoor area. It is a sizable place, and well maintained. My tour guide was thorough, attentive and answered all my questions. I did not eat there, as I was waiting to do that when/if my mom visits. By the way, Oakmont did make the "top two" cut (I visited 8 facilities in north county San Diego).

First, it is beautiful with a beautiful courtyard in the middle of the complex, 2nd it has such a sweet and friendly staff, 3rd they have different activities every day and last they have lots of family nights to encourage families to join in an activity with their loved ones.

They are kind but the follow through for memory care can be slow to nil at times. I worked in healthcare for 22 years so I do understand timely responses to questions or concerns. His dietary restrictions are not followed. Not great follow through at times. My dads room is hit or miss at times with vacuuming and mopping. Blinds took months to be fixed

Their garden area for Memory Care is very nice. The aides are wonderful and in my opinion underpaid for the work they do. My sister is very happy there and a high functioning Alzheimer's patient who requires no assistance whatsoever.
