A Great Place for Seniors

The facility is relatively new and has the look of a luxury hotel. The rooms are spacious at the various levels and the staff is very caring, friendly, and kind. There is a memory care area and it is a two-story facility, so it fits well with my mom, who didn't want to go into a high rise. The food has been great and there are always options for her that she likes.

Overall, a top notch facility. Excellent living quarters. Outdoor space is open and welcoming. Everything an older adult needs, this place has. However the cost makes it a non starter. There is no value.

Room for improvement

The staff is friendly, but not always helpful. They need to work on their response time to alerts. It took months to accommodate to my mother's dietary needs. The cleaning staff skipped my mom's room for months because they said she was allergic to cats. The staff changes VERY VERY frequently. We were informed that there was a podiatrist, but when my mom moved in there wasn't one.

Felt like family

My mom passed away 4 weeks ago. She lived at Oakmont for 6 months. I'm generally happy with them and not sure if there is much more we could have done about her over all health. I had a feeling they weren't feeding her enough, but she was very resistant to eating so I'm not sure much could have been done, although maybe she would have stuck around longer with a private caregiver.
