My tour was very informative. The facility is lovely. However, when I'm looking for independent living, l find that this type of community is offering services that I don't need right now and that it seems that paying for 3 meals a day that are served at specific times does not allow for my independent schedule. I moved back into my family home when my mother was 92 years old. She had reached the point where she would have benefited from Sentinel Pointe if she didn't have me. Now I'm downsizing from that family hom

The staff is exceptional, very caring, supportive, fun, wanting what's best and treat us as individuals We don't personally receive any nursing help, but have observed that they are that way too. Our kids are amazed, as are we at the huge amount of good activities there are. The food is improving with the great new chef we have Cleanliness is very good and our apartment is cleaned every Monday as well changing bedding and washing the dirty ones.. our apartment is just the right size for the 2 of us and our dog.

Critical

Concerns over broken elevator

Staff is good, parents like the food, apartment is nice, the situation with the broken elevators is concerning. My parents are basically stuck in their room waiting for meals. It is a long walk for them on the opposite wing. There isn't much communication about when it will be fixed. They're quite confused about it all and so are we as family.

"Felt like family"

They were great to work with but we needed to find a facility with additional services to better support my Mom. I would recommend to others.

Happy at Sentinel Pointe

Staff is 5 Cleaning people 2-turnover, changing dates and average work. Food 4. Staffing is an issue in dining area but overall mom is happy with food Activities-4. Mom involved in various card groups, bingo, 2 church services and Bible Study. There aren't a lot of outside trips to choose from (at least that I'm aware of). I think last winter there was a casino trip scheduled, mom signed up and it was cancelled bc of some illness going around. That sort of thing happens but I'm not aware of them offering this ag

Happy we made the change

Administrative personnel are easy to approach by residents, family and employees. I am comfortable talking to them about any concern. [name removed], the marketing person is very pleasant and knowledgeable, a big help. Maintenance is efficient and prompt. Medical backup is easy to set up with nurses in the building.
