Spring Village at Stratford

Respite care for 96 year old mother while we were away from home.

My mother had a very positive experience staying at Spring Village for a month while we were away from home. She enjoyed her stay there and felt very well cared for. She made new friends and participated in activities. Her room was sunny and spacious. She like the food very much. The staff at Spring Village was very professional and caring.

Some good things/Food not so good

Visited my Aunt at Spring Village Stratford CT. Things are changing here. It’s dated and the place does not appear as clean as it once was. I visited during lunch and was not impressed with the food. My Aunt told me of a recent change with kitchen staff that residents have been talking about. Since this change, she said the taste, selection and quality of food has not been the same. This to me is concerning, if you’re going to have a change of staff in your kitchen, you would think management would hire people with…

Staff is great, activities seem to be good but my mom does not leave her room...food is good but she has it delivered to her room for a charge, she has a 1 bedroom room and the size is perfect. The kitchen area has a mini refrigerator, microwave and sink which is fine

Our Family's Experience

The facility is beautiful and my mom loves the food. The place is spotless and sunny and there are plenty of activities. The only reason I didn't say 5 stars is because sometimes they are not great at responding to non essential emails

Need to keep on top of what's going on as much as possible for the first several weeks, especially for a relative that needs a higher level of assistance. Rooms all nicely renovated & good size. Dining is good as well. Not a large amount of activities but enough for my mom's needs. It's good to see mom gets dressed and walks to dining room for all meals.

Welcoming staff....

5 for all. It is a family in there. The staff cares for the residents like family. They welcome families to be involved in care and visit. I can't say enough about the facility. Welcoming staff that knows all their residents names, likes, dislikes. Staff always has a smile and goes out of their way to make the residents happy. The DNS is always available and cares for the residents like his family. I have more than one family member there. They offer respite care which I used for my dad. It was a great experience.…
