We are a quaint community of 60 assisted living and 30 memory enhancement apartments, located near Houston's prestigious Royal Oaks area. Our assisted living floor plans range from a studio to one of the largest two-bedroom, two-bath floor plans in Houston, at 800 square feet. Features may include kitchenettes, high ceilings, ample closet space, and magnificent windows with custom plantation blinds. Care Types Offered The Abbey at Westminster Plaza is a Type B assisted living facility . In the state of Texas, these terms are defined as follows: Assisted Living Facility A facility that provides personal care services and administration of medication to 4 or more residents. Assisted living facilities can accept residents with dementia and/or Alzheimer’s. There are 3 types of assisted living facilities: Type A: A facility that may provide room and board to residents who are physically and mentally capable of evacuating the facility unassisted. Type B: A facility that may provide room and board to residents who need assistance evacuating, are incapable of following directions under emergency conditions, require staff attendance during nighttime sleeping hours, and require assistance transferring to and from a wheelchair. Type C (Adult Foster Care): 4-bed facilities that meet the minimum standards and rules for enrollment in the Department of Aging and Disability Services’ Adult Foster Care home program.
