The facility is top notch, staff is extremely friendly and caring. Dining room staff makes you feel like you're at home, making sure you have anything you need. They have a gym and stretching/balancing classes with instructor. Lovely salon. Outdoor area is calm and lovely. We found we needed to be very specific when discussing what was needed, what was available, what the exact cost would be. Assisted living comes with an evaluation and they won't let you take your own drugs, so they'll charge for this - we were di…

Ask lots of detailed questions about everything! Help with things from maintenance etc is done at a fee. Would recommend but do your homework. Also, food is great and people are very friendly.

The Hacienda at San Luis Rey is the only place I would consider living when the time is appropriate. Over the years I have visited many retirement places and none come close to offering what The Hacienda offers. The Hacienda is physically beautiful with a mission style architecture, beautiful decorating and well landscaped grounds.
