Where they have put us smokers is awful traffic views are awful can't relax and enjoy being out doors we have a beautiful court yard where we used to be welcomed i personalized have put flowers twinkle lights keep birds fed used to relax read pray enjoy a cup of coffee All that has changed now NO ONE uses the courtyard any more.They have a porch and the entire building. Unfortunately, smoking in the court yard has created issues for other non-smoking residents and thus the change had to be made. Many communities do not allow smoking of any kind on property. Discrimination against smokers.

I am a resident of your quiet, clean, and friendly facility, I've learned to call my home. I went away for a while and was so unhappy I just wanted to come home and was welcomed back with open arms. However, some things have changed that I don't understand. Before we were able to sit in the courtyard and enjoy a cup of coffee and smoke. I understand and agree why the porch was off limits to smokers but why the courtyard? Smoke dissipates immediately in fresh air and is not a hazard to non smokers. Where they put us…

Opal is a great place for our loved one to live

[name removed] and the rest of the staff is wonderful. My relative feels safe and happy to be there and loves the meals. I would recommend Opal because of their genuine care for their residents.

The Opal

[name removed], the marketing director, was very helpful and went above and beyond to meet our needs. The staff is friendly. Biggest concern for our resident is quality of food and the smoking area being a shared outside space which makes it challenging for those who don’t smoke and use oxygen.

From grief to glory!

It's a family oriented place. Yes there's challenges as is every place but staff is exceptional! Close to my house & not in a single family home. Absolutely would recommend! I have grown to know that every elderly person needs someone to take extra special care of that person. Otherwise they're there just to exist!

Suggestions

The communication needs improvement as it is difficult to get accurate information on our family member. It seems very challenging to get answers to our questions - we can't get a bill, find out easily when certain things are scheduled like showers and when she had the last one, or when laundry is done or whether she ate her meals. Also I would recommend a system of wearable alarms that have fall detection if someone falls and isn't able to press their call button. It would also be helpful if check ins could be sch…
