PositiveThe Pines. In transition with room for improvement.
The staff and care were exceptional when we first became part of this community. Unfortunately, the experience has declined over time, and I believe much of that is due to changes made by Cogir. Several wonderful staff members have left, including servers who played an important role in making the experience feel special. The food, which was once exceptional, is now below average. The staff is knowledgeable, helpful, and communicative. They call me whenever my mom needs anything, anytime there is a health concern, even if it is resolved (a fall with no injuries, minor behavioral problem, etc.). They offer activities that my mom enjoys, and, though it took quite a while, my mom has made friends, which makes me very happy!

CriticalNot appropriate for my mother
The place is very nice and the staff worked hard to accommodate us last minute but it was not appropriate for my mom. She was too high functioning for the placement. She did very well on the test and it turns out she does not have dementia, just anxiety and depression. The problem was that we paid thousands of $ with no money back when she only stayed 2 days. The previous assisted living situation only charged us pro rated.
