PositiveMom was welcomed to the community. She was more reserved initially. The activity specialist was encouraging. Once comfortable- attended numerous activities/social events. The staff did a wonderful job making the transition from home to community living more comfortable. The family was closer to her which enabled family connections. Communication between staff and family was positive and informative. Family had peace of mind knowing mom was well supported.
Response from the communityThank you so much for your kind words! We’re delighted to hear that your mom felt welcomed and encouraged by our team, and that she’s been able to enjoy so many activities and social events. CriticalMy loved one is currently a resident at The Residence at Penniman Hill, but will be moving out soon. Many of the Memory Care residents have already moved out. The staff is lazy and untrained. The housekeeping is the only good aspect. Communication with the family is spotty. The move in process was easy. My suggestion is to remove the Director and reorganize and retrain the staff. I would absolutely not recommend this facility!

PositiveThey were great with my father-in-law for the short while he was in there.

CriticalFalse advertising!!! No nursing 24/7 and cannot age your loved one in place!!! You need to pay for private care if you want anything done which is forced by corporate! Spending at least $20 K a month plus. Corporate is fake and does not care and the memory unit is not a true memory unit, be aware!!!
Response from the communityWe are very sorry that there was any misunderstanding about the nature of assisted living and what the state allows under our licensure. Residents in our community do age in place from independent living to assisted living and into memory care living if necessary. Unfortunately, when an individual gets to the point of needing full-time care it is necessary to introduce private duty aides, or to consider higher-acuity options such as skilled nursing. We wish you the best.

PositiveI would highly recommend Penniman Hill. My mother loved it there and the staff are absolutely amazing.
★★★★★
PositiveMy mother was a resident at Penniman for about two years. She was in Assisted Living for a year and a half and Memory Care for about four months. The care she received at Penniman Hill was outstanding. The front desk, nursing, engagement and the business office always went out of their way to help. The care she received in Memory Unit was equally as good. The Administration, Nursing and the entire staff, took such good care of her. My mom was very happy at Penniman Hill from the moment she entered the building. S…
