In the state of Florida, these terms are defined as follows: Assisted Living Facility A facility that provides supervision of the activities of daily living, medications, and other similar services to residents in a homelike environment. These facilities can house one resident to hundreds of residents. Extended Congregate Care Under this license an assisted living facility can provide limited nursing services, supervision to residents with dementia or other cognitive impairments, provide total care for dressing/toileting/grooming, dietary management, and more.
