PositiveThe staff, Weather, medication administration, medical or maintenance and housekeeping are all very friendly and supportive of the residents at Sunny Vista. However, in the memory care unit with people who are cognitively impaired, it sometimes is better to provide direction as opposed to pose a question and so make sure that staff is comfortable with that process.

CriticalHope they have changed. It was truly terrible and my husband even had to go help her in the middle of the night! There was constant staff turnover. Never had help. Definitely did not try to preserve her dignity. Very sad!!!

PositiveRetreat at Sunny Vista. We moved her here from rehab after a fall. Her dementia was worse and she needed Memory Care. Moved here in [date removed]. 1. Overall. 4. It has been a better fit. They have one price so no add one. Also they take PACE and that is a big plus. The facility is much nicer than willow Court. Cleaner. More updated. 2. Cleanliness. 4. Overall cleanliness a 5. With regard to her room it depends who it is. 3. Friendliness 5. Was a little lower at first. Had some staff turnover and current staff is…

PositiveWe give the overall experience at 4, it would be a five if they hadn't fired so many other really good staff they had there, and change their leadership so many times. However, yes we would recommend this community to other families. The place is absolutely beautiful, and it's actually the same price as some pretty bad ones that we looked at in town. For instance it's way prettier than the one down by the Broadmoor, can't remember that name now it's been 2 years. Everyone treats be a very nicely there and she has a…

CriticalMy mother was in memory care for about a month and a half after being in the hospital and rehab. The very first thing I told the nurse [name removed] when I got there is I wanted my mom up in her wheelchair for meals and not in bed all day. She had just spent 6 weeks bedbound. She arrived midday and the next evening when I went to see her around dinnertime, my mom was in bed, wet, in her pajamas and had been all day. This was how it was 90% of the time. Response times when the call button is pushed is incredibly lo…

CriticalDon’t ever subject an elderly person to this facility. They cannot keep a nurse or executive director and the care is abhorrent. I can’t express strongly enough to not let the pretty building/physical plant fool you.
