About the community
The Rose Garden Elderly Care is a brand new, high-end residential care facility for the elderly (Board & Care home) located in San Jose. We offer a family style intimate setting in a gorgeous, newly renovated home catered to six elderly residents. The Rose Garden is able to care for the elderly who have severe dementia or any other condition and are in need of full care. During the daytime hours our caregiver to resident ratio is 1:2. Other times our caregiver to resident ratio is 1:3. The Rose Garden Elderly Care is located in north San Jose (95132), conveniently near several highways such as CA 680/880, 101 and 237. Nearby are a lot of religious institutions, restaurants and shopping centers, such as The Great Mall. The Rose Garden Elderly Care is run by Ting (administrator) and Lily (support staff), who are a mother-daughter duo that come from over 10 years of care experience. Previously, Ting and Lily ran several daycares in the San Jose area. Both have extensive experience in caring for both the elderly and for children. Ting and Lily only recruit and hire the best and most competent and compassionate caregivers. All caregivers are recruited from other facilities and are given additional dementia training in-house. Ting, Lily and the caregivers combined have over 30 years worth of experience in the care industry.

PositiveWhat we like the most about the community is that the communication was pretty good. Hospice did the majority of the work as my brother had a stroke and needed medication and extra care. I'm having a hard time recommending or not recommending the place. It was a bit depressing, not lively. They were nice but very pricey. If you haven't been there you should visit

PositiveMostly, I was happy with the caregivers there. My father was bedridden for most of the time he was there, and the caregivers were really good with caring for him, making sure he was clean and fed, talking to him. The facility is small, so the caregivers were able to be very responsive to the residents' needs

PositiveThey are the best. Additionally they are loving and caring. Yes - we wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. Holidays they host open house with Thanksgiving and Christmas spread. They are getting ready to throw my mom a bday party later this month. [name removed] told us to invite family and friends. All the nurses and aides from Hospice will also be there.

PositiveMy Dad has late stage dementia and was exhibiting behavioral problems and was asked to leave a larger memory care facility in San Jose. We found Rose Garden through a family friend who's grandma had the same problem. We moved my dad in and the Administrator and staff were able to get my dad's behaviors a lot better than before. The facility is always clean and tidy, it is very peaceful and a nice place for any elderly to live in.

CriticalI would not recommend this place. They appear to be understaffed and my loved one was left in bed all day for most days. My loved one was clearly distressed and unhappy to be in this home. After moving them into another home, they are faring much better.
