Not recommended for memory care

My mom enjoyed the assisted living area and the staff. The food seemed to have very little variation however. They said we needed to move her to the memory care unit so she could get more hands on care. So, we moved her. She had less care. They left her and her room in filth, the staff did not engage with the residents except when they had to. They instead sat on their phones. It was awful. Beautiful facility that could use management improvement

There is a lot of turnover in administrative staff and management, which impacts both the residents and their families. There are community members who help new residents but they could improve by providing more communication and assistance to family members who are managing the finances, care, and ensuring our family members have what they need. Review for The Veraden Senior Living

The residents are individuals and, as in any neighborhood, some are more outgoing than others. There are always many residents at the activities and although my parents have become pretty much home bound, I enjoy knowing the other residents. The upheaval in staff the last six months is disconcerting though.

A mostly positive mixed bag.

My mother was a resident of the Veraden assisted living facility for the last year of her life that ended May of 2024, The nursing staff at the Veraden are some of the most compassionate people I have ever met. However, the Senior management of the nursing staff was mediocre at best. I think this is why the turnover rate is very high and morale is often noticeably low. My Experience

We have a new Executive Director and there has been a number of changes in the staff. Haven't had a lot of interaction with most of them yet. CNA's are very helpful and caring. Housekeeping is very good. I probably should have given it a 5 rating. The meals are good quality and the servers do an excellent job. The move in went very smoothly because we hired movers that specialize in this and they packed up things from our home and unpacked everything here, even hung pictures and wall decorations. Many daily activities are set up on a calendar, but it is pretty much just recycled from month to month. No one facilitates a large number of the repeat activities, so they don't actually happen. That means there is a lot less going on for the residents than it appears. Overall I would recommend The Veraden to others.
