The Village of the Heights assisted living residents can choose studio, one-bedroom, or two-bedroom apartments with kitchenettes, large windows, and private bathrooms with walk-in showers. Care teams are available to help with activities of daily living and other supportive services. The memory care neighborhood for seniors with Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia has studio and two-bedroom apartments with large windows, walk-in showers, and patios. The neighborhood is staffed by specially trained caregivers to provide a safe and comfortable environment. State Classification The Village of the Heights is a Type B assisted living facility . In the state of Texas, these terms are defined as follows: Assisted Living Facility A facility that provides personal care services and administration of medication to 4 or more residents. Assisted living facilities can accept residents with dementia and/or Alzheimer’s. There are 3 types of assisted living facilities: Type A: A facility that may provide room and board to residents who are physically and mentally capable of evacuating the facility unassisted. Type B: A facility that may provide room and board to residents who need assistance evacuating, are incapable of following directions under emergency conditions, require staff attendance during nighttime sleeping hours, and require assistance transferring to and from a wheelchair. Type C (Adult Foster Care): Four-bed facilities that meet the minimum standards and rules for enrollment in the Department of Aging and Disability Services’ Adult Foster Care home program. The facility provides supervision and personal care services to residents.
