Traditions of Mount Vernon

[Name Removed] was so kind and caring. [Name Removed] the Administrator helped define a plan for my Mom who did not wish to go to a nursing home. The facility is very nice! We decided to put Mom in Memory care.

Brookdale Mt. Vernon, The Best Home & Staff, just falls short of perfection sometimes

They are understaffed. However, we stay bc mom is bonded with the staff there. And- they are bossy enough to tell my stubborn & depressed stricken mother... you're coming to lunch to eat. You love music- you're coming to music trivia. They get her out of her head- which is good. The facility building overall is wonderful. It does NOT smell like a nursing home. I wish they had on- site therapy room. I wish their billing was more accurate. Staff know how to pacify others when they are upset.

Friendly and caring staff

[name removed] passed away 4 hours after admittance. However, my daughter and I have deep gratitude for the care provided by staff prior to admittance and the time prior to her passing. For instance, I had to leave to take care of legal concerns. The director came and sat with her until my daughter & hospice nurse could arrive.

My Dad was in the memory care part of the facility. Meds seemed to be changed often which made it difficult on him. This was due to his Dr. not Brookdale. This was my only real complaint. He passed away after a 3 month stay. I am Very thankful to the administration, nurses and associates that worked with my Dad. They took the time to learn his norms and treated him with respect.

Brookdale Mount Vernon review

They are friendly most of the time. I feel they need to be showered more often. Not sure why 8 days of pay is needed once person is deceased and no longer taking up a bed or employee time. Definitely feel all things belonging to a patient should be marked and not be able for others to use/take. To much ability for patient to get in others rooms to take things.
