Assisted living residents live in one-bedroom or two-bedroom apartments with private patios and individual bathrooms. Trained caregivers can help with activities of daily living and medication management. The memory care neighborhood for seniors with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia features studio suites with private bathrooms, plus a team of specialized caregivers to help keep your loved one comfortable and engaged. State Classification Village on the Park Steeplechase is a Type B assisted living facility . In the state of Texas, these terms are defined as follows: Assisted Living Facility A facility that provides personal care services and administration of medication to 4 or more residents. Assisted living facilities can accept residents with dementia and/or Alzheimer’s. There are 3 types of assisted living facilities: Type A: A facility that may provide room and board to residents who are physically and mentally capable of evacuating the facility unassisted. Type B: A facility that may provide room and board to residents who need assistance evacuating, are incapable of following directions under emergency conditions, require staff attendance during nighttime sleeping hours, and require assistance transferring to and from a wheelchair. Type C (Adult Foster Care): Four-bed facilities that meet the minimum standards and rules for enrollment in the Department of Aging and Disability Services’ Adult Foster Care home program.
