PositiveThis facility is better than I could have hoped for! My brother's studio assisted living apartment is perfect for him. The staff has been exemplary as of this date. I know no place is perfect, but my experience with Woodland has been wonderful! My brother is happier than I've seen him in YEARS!

PositiveSome of the things we really liked about Woodland retirement is how friendly everyone in management and the other tenants. We eat maybe three or four times in the dining room. They try very hard to get food the way you want it. They have so many activities that are pretty nice. Great library, movie theater that we donated about 600 DVDs. The office staff are great! CriticalVery disappointing....room was filthy...bathroom was the worst.... toilet was black from not being cleaned. The staff was ever changing... was often said they will help but they don't. They were not doing the laundry ( I had to do his laundry... approximately 5-6 loads. The laundry really smelled bad) Only person I felt was really good, was the nurse who dispenses the medication. My brother is blind, so he never knew what his room looked like. Very unfortunate.

PositiveI like the closet and storage space in the unit. Maintenance is fairly fast in addressing problems. One thing they should improve on is to increase the size of servings of vegetables in the meals! It is often very inadequate.

CriticalMy Parents have been residents of Woodland for several months. They do not, and have never gotten the services such as housekeeping and transportation that they signed up for and pay for monthly. There is NO Housekeeping, they have not been able to keep a staff. The food could improve and they run out of basic items during meal times in the dining room daily. The facility is nice looking, but needs major cleaning.
