This charming, Spanish-style community is located in the coastal city of Ventura, California, and features luscious landscaping, raised garden beds, and a large courtyard that’s perfect for outdoor events. Caregivers offer a wide range of services, including assisted living, memory care, and respite care. The care team strives to make each day unique and enjoyable for residents by planning a variety of engaging activities through the Life Enrichment program. Health and wellness programs are also provided to help residents learn new skills and stay engaged throughout their daily life. In addition to specialized programs and events, caregivers offer individualized care plans for each resident to meet their changing needs. For residents in need of memory care services, staff provide compassionate care through the Life’s Neighborhood program. Residents can also benefit from a variety of services, including weekly housekeeping, laundry, concierge, and scheduled transportation. For families looking for temporary care options, short-term respite care services are available, as well. Residents can choose between an inviting studio or a one-bedroom floor plan. Furnished and unfurnished options are available. Plus, each apartment includes a private bath, a kitchenette, and plenty of living and storage space. PositiveHappy at Aegi
High level of caregivers. Also, not much turnover in the staff which I took as a very big plus. It's expensive. Plus there is a one time non-refundable fee of $[fee removed]K for a very high tech monitoring system throughout the facility that assures a very quick response if a resident falls or something abnormal happens while they are in their room. This operates 24/7.

As with most facilities, they are often short staffed with caregivers. Response time can vary from a rare 5 minutes to a common 20-30 minutes or longer. Aegis invested in an elaborate camera system without getting input from the residents. Within a year, there have been 3 head managers. The current one [name removed] isn't a good communicator/listener. Aegis is better than most but still has problems. Aegis, as with all the facilities I've stayed at, is lacking in being adequately staffed . . . and the staff being adequately trained. The administration seems to have holes too.

My loved one is currently a resident at Aegis of Ventura. You have to ask a lot of questions, as they are not forthright with information. The communication with the family is not great. I would not recommend this facility if someone is shopping price. It is extremely expensive for what you get and one is clearly being overcharged.

Criticalvery bad experience
I had a bad taste in my mouth when I looked at the cleaning lady named [name removed], how she charges for some items that guests benefit from and her work always with a very despotic and arrogant attitude. The stay was short for my family member and due to these reasons I decided I will never use their services again and I would not recommend them
