We're very happy with Artis. [name removed] has settled in well. We are happy with the facility and the staff. It's especially nice for people who have dementia, but are still physically active since it is dedicated memory care. There is room to move about -- inside and out -- securely. I would recommend.

CriticalThings to know
There were some initial issues with medication scheduling. Two medications that were prescribed for bedtime were changed to the afternoon and had to be corrected. During an early visit, the bathroom had a noticeable odor and the floor was sticky, which required staff to be asked to clean it. On a later visit, the room floor was still not clean and there was no toilet paper in the bathroom. The staff has been friendly and helpful overall, but given the cost, these basic issues were unexpected.

The staff continue to be top rate as far as I'm concerned. They indeed have a very trying job. I am very pleased with the overall program at Artis. Their focus is solely on meeting the needs of Alzheimer's suffers. The daily programming involve exercise, music, playful, and mentally stimulating activities. Resident are able to experience a wide variety of activities to keep them occupied. Artis offers support to residents family members. Good communication between staff and families.
