Review for Belmont Village Lincoln Park

Very good communication with the Manager of the Memory Care Unit and other staff, in the initial weeks before I visited in person. This was very important as we were advised to delay our first visit to allow time for my Aunt to acclimate, and naturally there was some anxiety on my part, so the good communication with me was reassuring. So far so good in terms of a recommendation. I will add that A Place for Mom was a tremendous help. We had to find a place within a few days to move my Aunt and A Place For Mom was a

Response from the community

Thank you for sharing your experience. We’re so glad to hear that the communication from our Memory Care team was reassuring during those important early weeks. Helping families feel informed and supported, especially during a time of transition, is very important to us, and we’re happy your aunt has been settling in well so far.

Memory care is lacking

The attention to memory care patients can we lacking. Activities don't match the cognitive levels of the patients. They basically sit in one room all day and rarely get taken outside, to hear live music or have use of the theater. All promised during the tour. Communication with management is difficult. Hard to get responses.

You get what you pay for

Staff is friendly and there are enough of them. Food variety is good and dining experience is as near restaurant level as one can get at an assisted living arrangement. it's not cheap - price increase for the year was surprisingly large.

Review for Belmont Village Lincoln Park

My experience with the head nurse was awful. My husband entered Belmont Village after a 3 week stay at Northwestern Hospital. He was in hospice care for only 5 days before he died at Belmont Village. The head nurse showed no empathy sympathy or courtesy towards my loss.

Our families experience

I would give Belmont Village LP a rating of 5 ( best) in every category. No place is perfect; but we have been very pleased with the experience we have had the last 2.5 years. Belmont Village is especially good at engaging its residents in a variety of ways , through activities that meet them where they are. My mom is in the memory floor and the interaction and programming is outstanding. No one is isolated. The quality of care and concern for their residents is clear.

Our family would recommend the facility but feel some additional improvements could be taken with memory care.

My biggest issues are with the Memory care floor and not the overall experience. A bit of a bait and switch. Residence like my Mom who is mobile and fit are never included in the activities for the other residents so she is locked on a floor with no physical activities and they sit on the same room all day unless there is physical therapy. Don't walk them or bring them outside. I would have to pay extra to have them walk. Often pals are just sitting around when they could take some residents to patios or to hear th
