Positive- staff is friendly, the place is clean, food is good, the common areas are nice (both on the memory care floor and regular areas), provide wheelchair transportation to doctors appointments, allow us to reserve rooms to have party or family gatherings. Negatives- I have had to follow up multiple times about getting hair washed or at one point bathing, applying lotion. My mom is supposed to wear hand braces and the staff are often not trained to use them or do not use them. It's expensive

PositiveBeyond Expectations
Definitely a 5. Because even though there were a few blips in the beginning (nothing and no one is perfect), they were handled immediately! Mom has been doing so well at Benchmark Hamden! Therese was a slight adjustment period but nowhere near what I'd expected. The pivotal moment was when she had to be hospitalized for UTI with behavioral changes and needed IV therapy. In the past, upon returning to her previous facility, she was repeatedly immediately sent back out for continued behavioral problems. This time, sh…
