Bickford of Portage

Administration has been weird since they are trying to hire a new manager there. But they are getting better but they have been helpful. Food dad says is great. They been working with what dad makes and once his VA paperwork is finally done. They lost it during management change. I just got it back last week. Then his rent with go up. It's been a high turnover since January when he moved in.

Happy with our choice for Mom

I would give them a solid 4. We moved my mom in when they were in the midst of some staff turmoil. Didn't really get an orientation or anything that first day and it made it a stressful few days. But they have worked hard to smooth things out for us. Food/dining=5 The food is fresh, the menus are varied, and it's of good quality. I've tried it and my mom loves it. Activities=4.5 [name removed] is great and offers a variety of things each week. My mom is not a "joiner" but does like to participate in the walking g

I and friend visited Bickford of Portage on behalf of my cousin [Name removed]. [Names Removed] introduced themselves and they gave a brief overview of the facility and provided us handouts of the types of rooms and activities. Tyler then took us on a tour. The activities they offer are very creative to instill interest in the residents The rooms are adequate in size and functionality. The base costs fell upper-mid-range, compared to four other facilities in Portage. We had no idea of what the costs would be for h

My family's experience

The staff at Bickford are very friendly. Rooms are clean and my mom enjoys her room. She said it's the right size. They have a great kitchen staff also food is restaurant quality. I would recommend them to others who are searching for a place for their loved one.

Review for Bickford of Portage

The place is well worn-out, the food tastes like I had in high school, the rooms are nice and the hallways are clean but carpets are worn-out. The staff is very kind but over worked.
