About Bowman Place at Olde Bedford

On the outskirts of Manchester, the largest city in New Hampshire, lies Bedford, a forested hamlet with New England charm. Bedford boasts a winning combination of rural and suburban living. While most of the town is covered in dense evergreen trees and traffic noise is nonexistent, Boston is just an hour away and a large commercial area with most retail chains and local stores is within 15 minutes. For classic coastal views, Portsmouth is also just an hour away. Instead of saying Bedford is near green spaces, it’s more accurate to say that Bedford is sprinkled within green spaces. Residents at Bowman Place at Olde Bedford are privileged to live in a comfortable and modern facility within an untouched slice of the American wilderness. Situated on 16 acres of landscaped walking trails within the spectacular local scenery, Bowman Place offers seniors community living with subdued luxury. Apartments are outfitted with modern, stainless steel appliances, and the tastefully decorated common areas encourage residents to socialize and enjoy themselves. Families and seniors can choose from many floor plans, including assisted living studios and memory care two-bedroom suites. Bowman Place offers both assisted living and memory care and prides itself on providing seniors with a high quality of life through its Enriched Life activities program. Loved ones can choose to participate in the Bird Watcher’s club, learn a new skill in a cooking class, or join a dance group, among many other options. These balanced programs are popular at Bowman Place for a reason. For those in need of memory care, Bowman Place offers residents cutting-edge therapies such as the Behavior-Based Ergonomics Therapies (BBET) program. At Bowman Place at Olde Bedford, seniors and families can access a joyful new chapter in their lives. Looks are deceiving….

If you are considering Bowman Place for a loved one with dementia, I strongly encourage you to look elsewhere. Our experience with the Memory Care unit was deeply disappointing and ultimately led us to move our loved one. We experienced repeated failures in communication, inconsistent care, poor hygiene, inadequate hydration, and concerns with overnight monitoring. Significant incidents were not always reported to our family, and we often discovered problems ourselves. What was most alarming was the staff’s appar

Don’t let the glamor of the facility fool you.

My family’s experience with Bowman Place Memory Care raised serious concerns about resident care, staff training, and professionalism. This review applies to Memory Care, not Assisted Living. We observed unprofessional interactions with residents, including yelling at vulnerable dementia patients, poor communication with families, and a lack of overnight monitoring and hygiene checks. On multiple occasions, residents were left in urine-soaked clothing long enough for it to dry. Families who advocate for their loved

Review for Bowman Place at Olde Bedford

I would suggest that families get to know the medical team that is working with their elder. Initially, it took some time to get all the medication issues sorted out early on. Then when a medical issue arises they would already know the team. That would be my best advice

Our family's experience was overall pleasant but did not offer the skilled nursing that our family required

My parents were only there for 8 weeks. It was not a good fit for them. It is a very nice community but I have since learned that there are 2 types of assisted living communities. Some that are socially focused and some that have more focus on health care needs. Bowman is more focused on social and my parents needed more health care support.
