About the community
Stay connected to your community at Boyson Heights Senior Living. As a mid-size city, Cedar Rapids is familiar, clean, and welcoming. Many activities are available for free for people of all ages. The Lowe Park Ball Diamonds and St. Andrew’s Golf Course are a short five-minute drive from the facilities. Old MacDonald's Farm at Bever Park is a free petting farm open during the summer and autumn months and is one of the most popular activities for residents. Brucemore, the stately Queen Anne-style mansion, is the cultural centerpiece of Cedar Rapids and is only a 10-minute drive away. The mansion itself is a museum, but the 26-acre landscaped grounds and gardens are free to the public year-round, and often host concerts. For the artistically inclined, the Cedar Rapids Art Museum has one of the largest collections of paintings by the celebrated painter of the American Midwest, Grant Wood. Boyson Heights Senior Living opened in 2021, and the design has a dignified elegance with state-of-the-art facilities. Seniors and families can choose the best option for them from 14 different apartment floor plans, all spacious and fully updated. Residents enjoy the particularly extensive lifestyle amenities, including a whirlpool hot tub, fitness room, and library. When family and friends come to visit, seniors make use of the Hospitality Hub or the Loft Outdoor Patio, both designed with hosting in mind. When residents need a pick-me-up, they head to the salon or barber shop. Boyson Height’s warm and conscientious ethos is reflected in the three different kinds of service available to seniors and families: independent living, assisted living, and memory care. Boyson Heights Senior Living is an ideal and cost-effective facility for seniors with a wide range of needs and gives families the peace of mind that comes with knowing their loved ones are well taken care of. ★★★★★
PositiveStaff is very helpful and friendly. The food is excellent, and the building is kept clean. The cable TV is terrible . ( not their fault) If you in a hurry to find a place , make sure you know the difference between assisted living and skilled nursing. Boyson Heights does not transition to skilled nursing, so my mother will probably have to move again in the near future.
★★★★★
PositiveI think the whole place has a great look and good vibe. Yes, I would recommend Boyson Heights Senior Living to other families based on the experience we have had so far.
★★★★★
PositiveOur mother in law loves Boyson. The staff is very caring and friendly. She has a cat and the entire facility fell in love with him and always dropped in to visit. She really enjoyed the attention she got.
★★★★★
PositiveI had to dust and clean cobwebs and blinds. No activities for my mom who is vision impaired.I would recommend to others.
★★★★★
PositiveThe staff is very easy to work with. They treat our father with respect and seem to really care about him. We can call anytime and get any questions answered. His room is always clean. We had his 90th birthday family party at the facility, which worked out wonderfully. We would definitely recommend Boyson Heights.
★★★★★
CriticalThe overall experience gets a 1 because the care was why I had her there and it was sub par. They did not know she was assisted and not independent, I had to tell the about 3 weeks in. She was invited in an outing because she was not helped into the van. That injury became infected. She went on one outing advertised as a scenic drive but it was really a visitation for a resident who died . She did not get a shower for 2 weeks and no one noticed until I figured it out I found 1 part time nurse who was good and tried…
