Brookdale has a 'Support Group' that meets monthly which is great. This gathering time of sharing experiences is unmeasurable in providing help, advice and comfort. A family develops from this support, that encompasses your own family member with the other residents and families, as well as, the Brookdale staff. My mother passed away on [date removed], but I am left with fond memories of the time she was at Brookdale. It is a difficult time when your love one needs more help than you can provide. Overall experience I can say a 5. What has made the biggest impression is the importance of communication with the residents' families. Such as sending a photo of a love one doing a special activity, update family meetings, staff and aides' positive interaction, not only with residents, but with family members as well.

I was happy with Brookdale for about nine months. The last three months have been awful. He was in the hospital this past Sunday. I got a call from Brookdale. I showed up Monday to help one of the caregivers. Give him a shower. There was various things still connected to his body from the hospital visit on Tuesday. I get a call from Kaiser Hospital again and he's in there as of yesterday I'm not allowed to see him. It's breaking my heart and he will not last much longer having dementia and Alzheimer's without me se…
