(at [Amount Removed], you'd think you'd get treated like royalty. Unfortunately, it is quite obvious that there's not enough staff to provide the care that people think they should get. The staff does what they can, WHEN they can. But it's still better than a nursing home.) However, what we like the most about the community is the cleanliness. Filtered water tanks on ea floor. 5 on ALL categories. Brookdale in Destin is a Very Nice place. The people are friendly, the atmosphere is clean & inviting and the food smelled yummy. The residents seem happy and there's plenty of activities for your loved one!! The rooms are laid out well with many different layouts to choose from. --- I would advise those who are thinking about an assisted living to keep in mind your loved one's mobility issues. Business side feels very corporate with little local control, but some of the staff genuinely cares and is dedicated to taking care of the residence. Though there have been numerous staff changes, it's understandable that that is industrywide and not just specific to Brookdale Destin.

Do not put loved ones in this facility. They allowed the nursing staff to take(ingest)residents medications and ignored when it was reported. They gave meds to residents that were not prescribed meds. If any complaints were made the residents was kicked out. Multiple employees were family members of the director. Any violations were ignored.. I hope changes have been made since we were dealing with them.
